The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, confirmed to Suspilne Novini that the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Legion of Freedom of Russia are conducting an operation to “liberate the territories of the Belgorod region from the so-called Putin regime and push the enemy back in order to create a security zone to protect the civilian population of Ukraine ".

Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the entry of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group into the territory of the Belgorod region. He said that "the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border service, the National Guard and the FSB, are taking the necessary measures to eliminate the enemy."

In addition, he informed that “after the shelling” of the village of Glotovo, Graivoron District, a man and a woman with mine-explosive wounds were taken to the regional hospital.

On the morning of May 22, the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) reported on its Telegram channel that its fighters had crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border. The channel also featured four short videos. In one of them, men in military uniform stand against the background of a sign for the village of Bezlyudovka, Belgorod Region, in the second, near the sign for the village of Churovichi, Bryansk Region, and in the third, near the sign for the village of Lyubimovka, in the Kursk Region. In another video, you can see people in military uniforms in a car, while off-screen someone shouts “RDK, go!”.

In the afternoon, "Freedom of Russia" and the RDC announced the "liberation" of Kozinka in the Belgorod Region and the entry into the settlement of Grayvoron.

The Telegram channel of the Russian propaganda channel RT also reports on the “capture by Ukrainian saboteurs” of the House of Culture in the village of Gora-Podol, Belgorod Region. The Russian pro-Kremlin channel Shot writes about the “difficult situation” in the village of Kozinka in the Belgorod region and the partial evacuation of its residents.
