The Belgorod region was again attacked at night, including by UAVs, said the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. According to him, on May 22, during evacuation measures after the penetration of saboteurs in the Grayvoron district, a woman born in 1941 died.
Two previously reported wounded civilians were evacuated from the village of Glotovo. The couple was taken to the city hospital No. 2, the woman had shrapnel wounds to the lower extremities, a state of traumatic shock, in a serious condition, the man had injuries to the abdominal cavity and chest in a state of moderate severity.
In Grayvoron, UAVs attacked two private residential buildings, dropping explosive devices, the governor claims. The result was a fire. In the village of Borisovka, an explosive device was repeatedly dropped from an UAV onto an administrative building. According to Gladkov, there were no casualties. Also, drones with explosives attacked the Borisovsky district, in Borisovka the roof of a private house was damaged.
In the Grayvoron district, the “cleansing of the territory” continues. The governor noted that local residents should not return to their homes yet:
“We are waiting for the completion of the counter-terrorist operation, which was announced yesterday. I will do my best to provide you with all information as soon as possible.
Also on the morning of May 23, a general gathering of security officials was announced in the Bryansk region – the Edelweiss signal, writes Mash. According to the channel, the National Guard will strengthen in the Sevsky, Suzemsky, Trubchevsky and Klimovsky districts of the region. The Klimovsky district was shelled twice on May 22, Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported . Today, a village in the Starodubsky district of the region came under shelling. The day before, on May 22, a general gathering – the signal "Edelweiss" – was announced in connection with the sabotage in the Belgorod region.
In the city of Dyatkovo, Bryansk region, there is a strong fire, the Shot Telegram channel writes, publishing a photo. Puffs of black smoke are visible several kilometers from the fire. According to preliminary information, a warehouse on the territory of a former factory is on fire.
The fighters of the detachments that entered the Grayvoronsky district of the Belgorod region the day before are still on the territory of Russia and are moving on, the Legion of Freedom of Russia said in the morning. On the eve of the legion, as well as the "Russian Volunteer Corps" (RDK) took responsibility for the operation in the Belgorod region.
Earlier, on May 22, the governor of the Belgorod region recognized the breakthrough of the border of the “Ukrainian DRG”, before that unofficial messages appeared in Telegram channels. Later, Andriy Yusov, a representative of the military intelligence of Ukraine, said that the RDK, together with the Legion of Freedom of Russia (another unit formed from Russians fighting for Ukraine), was conducting an operation in the Belgorod region to “liberate territories from the so-called Putin regime and push the enemy back in order to create safety lanes for the protection of the civilian population of Ukraine. Near the battlefield, Russian Mi-8 and Mi-28 helicopters were seen flying low and shooting heat traps, presumably to avoid a repeat of the incident in the Bryansk region, where two Russian helicopters and two aircraft were shot down on the same day.
