Occupation authorities of Crimea “nationalized” Elena Zelenskaya’s apartment in Yalta

The "head" of the annexed Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said that the republic nationalized the apartment of Vladimir Zelensky's wife, Elena Zelenskaya, in Yalta, a building in Simferopol that belonged to the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as a number of other objects.

“Crimea continues to nationalize the property of Russia’s enemies,” Aksyonov wrote.

In February, it became known that in Belarus, the apartment of Siarhei Tsikhanouski, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison, and his wife, Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya, was put up for auction for the sale of property. In the documents for its sale, it was said that the apartment is the property of the “debtor”, which must be sold to pay off the debt.

Sergei Tikhanovsky in 2020 put forward his candidacy for the presidential elections in Belarus, but the CEC refused to register him. Later, the oppositionist was arrested and sentenced to 18 years in prison.

As a result, his wife Svetlana took part in the presidential elections instead of Tikhanovsky. The CEC declared Alexander Lukashenko the winner, but the Belarusian opposition considered the elections rigged, and recognized Tikhanovskaya as the real winner. Tikhanovskaya left for Lithuania, in her homeland, cases were initiated against her about preparing terrorist attacks and "assigning the title or power of an official."
