Radio Ozodi: In the Khabarovsk Territory, riot police beat a hundred students from Tajikistan

Students from Tajikistan who study at the Technical University in Komsomolsk-on-Amur complained about being beaten by riot police. According to Radio Ozodi, more than 100 people were injured.

According to the victims, riot police, accompanied by FSB officers, broke into the student dormitory on the morning of May 19. They turned off the surveillance cameras, after which they started beating the students. “The employees were wearing masks, armed with pistols and stun guns, they had tactical gloves on their hands with special inserts on the fingers, similar to brass knuckles. Anyone who asked why they were being beaten received an additional blow. There were also students of other nationalities in this dormitory, but only citizens of Tajikistan were beaten,” one of the students told reporters.

After the beating, documents and telephones were taken away from the victims, which were returned only the next day, and several people were taken away for interrogation. About 15 people were seriously injured, some require surgery. The students applied to the dormitory administration, but they were told that they could do nothing. The Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia also did not respond to the appeal of the victims.

Radio Ozodi notes that over the past week, the editorial office has received dozens of videos showing raids against Tajiks in different regions of Russia.
