The prosecutor requested six years in a colony-settlement for the pilot of the burned-out Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft

The prosecution demanded that Denis Yevdokimov, the commander of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, who crashed at Sheremetyevo Airport in 2019, be sentenced to six years in a colony-settlement. It is reported by TASS.

According to the investigators, the plane was not balanced enough, the commander of the ship did not feel an emergency and did not set the emergency code, and the landing took place with an overload. “At the moment of the third touch, the racks were already partially destroyed. The first impact of the rack survived, but the second impact on the strip was very strong, after which the racks were broken. The cause of the disaster is non-compliance with the rules for operating the vessel, ”said a representative of the prosecutor’s office.

The prosecution also asked to ban Evdokimov from driving for three years.

On May 5, 2019, the SSJ-100, which was heading from Moscow to Murmansk, returned to the departure airport 27 minutes after takeoff due to technical problems. After making a hard landing, the plane caught fire. There were 78 people on board, including crew members, 41 of them died from fire and poisoning by combustion products.
