The dam of the Karlovsky reservoir in the Donetsk region was blown up. Threatened by flooding – three villages

The Russian military blew up the dam of the Karlovsky reservoir in the Donetsk region. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko. According to him, the villages of Galitsinovka, Zhelannoye-1 and Zhelannoye-2 were under the threat of flooding.

“Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, the Russian occupying army has been constantly shelling Karlovka, striking precisely at the dam, neglecting the fact that civilians will suffer from these actions first of all. We were ready for such a development of events, and therefore the operational and rescue services of the Donetsk region have already begun to act according to a clearly defined algorithm. Communities that are in the zone of probable flooding have been warned. If necessary, the evacuation of the civilian population will begin,” Kirilenko wrote.

The dam also has a military significance: it is one of the roads used to supply Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk direction.
