The former head of the Komi administration was sentenced to 8.5 years due to embezzlement in the Patriot fund

The former head of the Komi administration, Mikhail Poryadin, was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in the case of embezzlement of money from the Patriot charity fund. He was found guilty of embezzling almost 200 million rubles. In addition, Poryadin was sentenced to a fine of 500 thousand rubles.

Also in this case, political strategist Maxim Mineev (5 years) and general director of the fund Nikolai Ignatiev (5.5 years) were sentenced.

The case was opened in May 2021. According to investigators, the defendants in the case stole money allocated by Mondi SLPK for charity. For this amount, fictitious reports on the activities carried out were drawn up.

Mikhail Poryadin has been working in Komi since 2015 at the invitation of the former head of the republic, Sergei Gaplikov. A few years later he received the post of head of the administration of the republic. In April 2020, Poryadin resigned following the head of Komi Gaplikov.
