Ex-Deputy of the City Council of Novosibirsk, United Russia Evgeny Panferov fled from criminal prosecution to the war. He was accused of negligence, resulting in the death of three people. The criminal case against him was suspended, Taiga reports .
In 2021, a 45-year-old man, his 38-year-old wife and their one and a half year old child died during an avalanche near the Mount Otdelnaya ski complex. Their 14-year-old son was hospitalized with severe injuries.
According to investigators, Panferov, who then held the post of head of the "Department for Civil Defense and Emergencies", did not control the inclusion of regular emergency forecasts in operational reports, which led to the death of people.
Right during the trial, Panferov went to war in Ukraine. “The materials on him were withdrawn separately and suspended,” the Taiga source said, adding that the official’s case, most likely, will simply be stopped in the end.
