Turkey is holding the second round of presidential elections. Two contenders for the highest post in the state, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, voted at their polling stations.
After the vote, Erdogan went out to the crowd of his supporters and began to distribute money to them. During the first round of elections, he also did this, but if last time Erdogan handed banknotes to children, this time he handed them to adults.
The current president of Turkey voted at a polling station in Istanbul, his rival – in Ankara.
Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, after voting at his polling station, told the Russian propaganda publication RTVI that if Kılıçdaroğlu wins, Turkey will practice a "mutually beneficial policy" in relations with Russia.
In the first round of the Turkish presidential elections, none of the candidates received more than 50% of the votes needed to win. Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 49.52% of the vote, the leader of the united opposition, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, 44.88%, and the nationalist Sinan Ogan, 5.17%. In the second round, Ogan supported Erdogan.
