The editor of “Protokol.Samara” opened a criminal case about “fakes” about the Russian army

To the editor of the regional publication “Protocol. Samara" Sergei Podsytnikov opened a criminal case on the spread of "fakes" about the Russian army (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code).

The publication reports that earlier the journalist's parents were summoned for interrogation, during which Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Irina Kulikova announced to them that a criminal case against her son would be opened within a week.

Podsytnikov has been living outside of Russia for a year and a half. The editors believe that the reason for his persecution by the security forces was the material prepared by him, which told about a missile attack on the building of a vocational school in Makeevka that occurred on New Year's Eve. A battalion of the mobilized was stationed in this building. Podsytnikov talked with relatives and acquaintances of the military.

On May 26, an administrative case was opened in Russia against Valery Nechai, a journalist and former editor-in-chief of Echo of Petersburg, for reposting Meduza materials. He is charged with participation in the activities of an “undesirable organization” (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
