“Punishment will restore justice.” A mobilized man who fled to his wife with a newborn will be sent to a colony for three years

Vladimir mobilized received three years in a colony-settlement for running away to his wife with a newborn daughter. A man from the village of Zolotkovo, near Gus-Khrustalny, was mobilized in September 2022. His wife was in her final stages of pregnancy at the time. On October 15, she gave birth to a girl, her husband was already sent on a business trip to the Belgorod region, writes the New Tab newspaper.

On the phone, the wife told her husband that, because of her worries about his mobilization, it was difficult for her to care for a newborn alone. Then he decided to leave the unit and return home. On October 27, the mobilized left the Belgorod part, reached the nearest railway station "686 km" and called a taxi. In court, the driver said that he drove a 20-year-old man in overalls to Novy Oskol and received 10,000 rubles for it. From there, on the messenger through Voronezh and Moscow, the mobilized reached his native Zolotkovo.

At the end of December, he himself appeared at the military commandant's office in Kovrov, but the Vladimir garrison court did not consider the reasons for the escape to be valid, the decision says that the man did not have a combination of difficult life circumstances. The court sentenced him to three years in prison, he will serve the term in a colony-settlement.

“Such a punishment will fully ensure the restoration of social justice,” the verdict says.
