Putin distributed the land around his residence to his relatives through figureheads – The Project

Vladimir Putin has arranged around his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo a "family estate" for himself and his relatives. As the Project found out , nominees and foreign offshore companies were used for these purposes.

The estate near Moscow in Novo-Ogaryovo became Putin's residence as soon as he came to power, and later he chose it for life use under the law on guarantees to the ex-president. As Proekt recalls, literally everything was equipped in Novo-Ogaryovo – a swimming pool, a bathhouse, a gym, and in 2015 a secret railway line was brought to the residence.

The president’s daughters began to receive real estate near the residence after they got married (it would be more accurate to say “they started living with their partners,” since officially, as the Project found out, the marriages of Putin’s daughters were not registered).

“The dowry began to be secretly prepared ahead of time – back in mid-2006, the lands adjacent to the residence were simultaneously bought by foreign companies, which actually divided the property between the two girls,” writes Proekt.

In order to conspire, land for Maria Vorontsova worth about 350 million rubles was left in the ownership of offshore companies. The lands for Katerina Tikhonova were registered with her partner Kirill Shamalov, formally she herself had nothing to do with them.

Thanks to the hacked correspondence of Kirill Shamalov, the details of the repair in the couple's house became known. Here's how the "Project" describes it:

“They decided to rebuild a 4-storey house with an area of more than 1800 sq. m and a plot of 60 acres – in its former form, it did not seem attractive enough to young people. In Shamalov’s correspondence there is an estimate of almost €9 million. One handmade gilded chandelier ordered by them for the dining room (or “drinking house” – this is the word young people jokingly use in correspondence) costs like a small apartment in the Moscow region – €72 thousand.

The same chandelier for €72,000

The young people planned to equip a separate acrobatic hall in their house (as you know, Katerina is engaged in acrobatic rock and roll), as well as install a potter's wheel and a loom in the art workshop.

Another house (a 4-storey cottage with an area of 1300 square meters) near Novo-Ogaryovo is owned by Putin's ex-wife Lyudmila. Her property was also formally registered to Kirill Shamalov.

A 15-minute drive from Putin's residence there is another site that was supposed to go to relatives. In 2015, 12 hectares of land were registered for Shamalov in a very prestigious place (between the residence of Dmitry Medvedev "Gorki-9" and the plot of Putin's friend Gennady Timchenko). Judging by the correspondence, Shamalov and Tikhonova wanted to build a villa here with an area of 4.5 thousand square meters. m.

However, these plans were not destined to come true, since Shamalov and Tikhonova broke up. Shortly thereafter, Shamalov lost almost all the shares of the largest Russian oil and gas company Sibur, in which, after the wedding, he received 20.8% worth about $ 2 billion. Most of this share, after the break with Tikhonova, returned to Putin's friends, writes Project. And in 2019, all the lands registered on him in Novo-Ogaryovo were confiscated from Shamalov.

Of all the real estate received by Shamalov during his relationship with Katerina, he only had a villa in France, which, according to the Project, was probably left to him as unnecessary.
