Online cinema in Russia fined in the case of “LGBT propaganda” among children

The St. Petersburg Magistrate's Court fined the video service Tricolor Kino and TV for 1.2 million rubles in an administrative case on “LGBT propaganda” among minors. It is reported by RBC with reference to Roskomnadzor.

Also, a fine of 200 thousand rubles was imposed on the official of the company responsible for the offense.

What was the reason for the fines, the representatives of the regulator did not say. The company itself told RBC that “the content that raised questions from the authorities” had already been removed.

The fine for Tricolor Kino and TV is the first decision in the case of “LGBT propaganda” among children in relation to online cinemas, issued by a Russian court, RBC notes.

Protocols for a similar article were previously compiled for a number of other video services. RBC's source in the media market said that Roskomnadzor's claims are often related to the film Perfect Strangers. It was because of this picture that an administrative case was opened against the Start online cinema.
