The situation at the front
One of the commanders of PMC Wagner, Anton Elizarov, with the call sign "Lotos", said that the conflict between Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Kadyrovites was settled. However, according to him, several unresolved issues remain. He addresses them not to Ramzan Kadyrov, but to State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, who recorded a video message criticizing the Wagnerites.
If you carefully listen to what Elizarov says in his address, it becomes clear that he is softly repeating the theses of the mercenary commander Dmitry Utkin (aka Wagner), published the day before. According to Elizarov, PMC Wagner is essentially an army, and Prigozhin is its commander (before that, Delimkhanov called him a “blogger”); when Prigogine said that he did not know what the Kadyrovites were doing, he allegedly really did not know because of the "classification" of their actions.
Toward evening, Prigozhin issued his own statement. He announced the withdrawal of 99% of the Wagnerites from Bakhmut and the transfer of positions of the RF Ministry of Defense. At the same time, he accused the department of mining the escape routes of the mercenaries. Earlier, similar information (albeit in relation to Soledar) was published by Twitter user NLwartracker with reference to his own sources in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Telegram channel Ordinary Tsarism has published a list of units that have been capturing Marinka for a year now. The 100th “DPR” brigade, the 150th motorized rifle division, the 5th “DPR” brigade, as well as the “Sparta” battalion, the “Kaskad” OBTF, the “Rusich” DShRG and the 42nd motorized rifle division are mentioned there. Representatives of "Rusich" emphasize the merits of the 150th MSD for the capture of the city center. The footage of the tanks of this division in the battles for the city was repeatedly published in the Telegram channel "Tankers of the Southern Military District".
Earlier, the Romanov Light Telegram channel wrote that “those who took” Marinka are being taken out of the city, and instead of them, a “pathetic detachment” is brought in to give him all the laurels. Most likely, the “pathetic detachment” refers to the Chechen division “Akhmat”.
It is worth noting that the population of Marinka until 2022 was 9 thousand people (for comparison, 71 thousand people lived in Bakhmut), and the first unsuccessful attempts by pro-Russian forces to take this settlement date back to the beginning of June 2015.
According to The Washington Post, the Ukrainian military has begun clearing minefields along the front lines in recent weeks ahead of a possible counteroffensive. The publication writes that specialized equipment is usually used for these purposes, including the Leopard 2R engineering vehicles transferred by Finland and the Soviet UR-77 Meteorite installations. But demining is not carried out with the help of equipment, but manually and at night, so that the Russians do not suspect something was wrong, as the commander of one of the engineering units with the call sign “Climate” told WaPo.
The website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published a report by the head of the mobilization department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Yevgeny Burdinsky on mobilization. The report was removed soon after. From it it becomes clear that the mobilized became part of 280 new units. At the same time, the unwillingness of a part of society to fight, as well as problems with supplies and weapons, are noted.
Burdinsky said that the department was enlisting employees of security companies in the war. It also became known about the creation of a database consisting of 31.6 million people, of which 2.9 million are citizens of military age. 5 billion rubles have been allocated from the Reserve Fund of the Russian Federation to support the employees of the military registration and enlistment offices and ensure their effective work. In addition, in 2023 it is planned to create a new combined arms and air army, one army corps, five divisions, 26 brigades and the formation of the Azov naval region, as well as the reconstruction of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts (they were merged into the Western Military District in 2010 ).
Mutual shelling and sabotage
On the night of June 2, Kiev was again shelled. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the destruction of more than 30 air targets over the city and the Kiev region by air defense forces. As the head of the Kiev city military administration, Sergei Popko, wrote , the attack was combined. Both 15 Kh-101/555 cruise missiles and 18 kamikaze drones of the Shahed family (aka Geran) were launched in the capital of Ukraine.
Pro-Russian Telegram channels are spreading a video allegedly showing a hit on “positions of the Kiev air defense”. At the same time, for example, in the channel "Military Informant", they only talk about the possible abnormal operation of a launched anti-aircraft missile.
The Russians fired at a multi-storey building in the village of Kamyshevakha, Zaporozhye region . Two women, 44 and 77 years old, died. Three more women and one man were injured.
In three Russian regions, incidents with drones were noted at once.

In the Kursk region, they say that several Ukrainian drones were shot down by air defense forces. Baza wrote that within half an hour they shot down 8 drones. Allegedly, their debris damaged several houses on different streets.
Governor Roman Starovoit posted a photo of a damaged entrance door to an apartment building, calling it a consequence of an attack by Ukrainian drones. However, in the video on the Kursk Bomond channel, you can see the door of the same entrance and a spent main engine from the 9M335 anti-aircraft guided missile of the Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system lying nearby.
In the Smolensk region, two drones attacked the facilities of the fuel and energy complex, said Acting Governor Vasily Anokhin. According to preliminary information, kamikaze drones attacked an oil refinery and gas distribution station.

The Belgorod region was again shelled. Two citizens are reported to have received minor injuries as a result of a drone explosion. He fell on the lawn in the residential area. In the Borisov region, one person was injured by a mortar shell explosion. Two people were wounded as a result of a mortar shelling in the village of Novopetrovka, Valuysky urban district .
Shebekinsky urban district suffered more than the others – 850 units of "various ammunition" were fired at it. Four people were injured here. In addition to residential buildings, three administrative buildings, a hostel, as well as ten enterprises and commercial entities were damaged. There is no water or electricity in the city.
The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, writes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at a section of the road in the village of Maslova Pristan . Shell fragments hit cars passing by. Two women were traveling in one of them, they died on the spot from their injuries. There are two victims in the second car.
The "Agency" has calculated the number of attacks on the Belgorod region since the beginning of the war. According to the publication, most of the messages about this were received in May 2023 – 130. In total, there were 358 of them. Since March 2022, 32 people have died in the region, 157 people were injured.
The Chervonogvardeisky district of Makiivka , occupied by the Russians, was shelled. During the shelling, a 4-year-old child was reportedly wounded and two women were killed.
Losses
The New York Times writes , citing a senior Western official, that during the entire operation to capture Bakhmut , Russian forces lost 20,000 people killed and 40,000 wounded. At the same time, the source of the publication speaks of the conservativeness of such an assessment. Prior to this, Yevgeny Prigozhin declared about 10,000 dead former prisoners and 10,000 killed "professional" mercenaries. The source of The NYT also notes that the United States cannot yet clearly establish whether Prigozhin is now following the orders of the Russian command, or whether his powers have expanded.
Earlier, the representative of the American National Security Council, John Kirby, spoke about 100 thousand killed and wounded on the Russian side, half of them were lost near Bakhmut . The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov stated about 70 thousand Russians killed and wounded in the battles for Bakhmut. Igor Girkin (aka Strelkov / Runov) estimated the irretrievable losses of Russian formations in this direction at 50 thousand people.
Russian channels publish footage of attacks by Russian formations on the fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps, who were trying to break through the border of the Belgorod region near Shebekino . It is reported that the RDK lost two T-72B tanks, which may have previously participated in the breakthrough at the Grayvoron checkpoint.
Armaments and military equipment
Russian Z-channels publish a video of the battle of the crew of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system, apparently against an FPV drone. One of the crew members says that the target was shallow, went low, and the Russians “barely found this scum”, after which they allegedly fired at it with rockets (they did not hit the target), as well as from the 30-mm cannons of the complex. At the same time, an unidentified flying object "dived" on them, "but sideways." It is reported about "minimal damage" to the ZRPK and it is stated that "the machine is already in service."
According to Reuters, the United States is trying to secure supplies of TNT from Japan for artillery shells that Washington is going to supply to Ukraine. According to the publication, Tokyo agreed, since TNT is used in various areas of production, which means that its supplies cannot be regarded as military.
The Swiss Parliament opposed the re-export of Swiss-made weapons through third countries to Ukraine. Earlier, in a country where there is a law that does not allow the supply of military equipment to states at war, Denmark and Germany were not allowed to supply Ukraine with armored personnel carriers and ammunition for Gepard installations. Switzerland continues to maintain neutrality, despite the condemnation of the war unleashed by Russia and joining the sanctions against the Russian Federation. At the same time, the Swiss company RUAG wants to sell 96 Leopard 1 tanks bought from Italy to the Netherlands for subsequent transfer to Ukraine.
