The authorities of the Kaluga region have decided to change the venue of the Invasion rock festival and postpone it to 2024, said the head of the region, Vladislav Shapsha.
According to him, the holding of the festival "caused a lot of discussion among the inhabitants of the region."
“On the one hand, we are becoming home to the country's main musical event. On the other hand, during the discussion, opinions were rightly voiced that now is not the time for Invasion, ”Shapsha wrote on Telegram.
Where the festival will be moved, Shapsha did not specify.
The organizers of the festival said that they assessed the situation and made a decision, "weighing all the risks together with the federal law enforcement agencies and services." The new venue for the festival, which will be held from July 26 to 28, 2024, they named the neighborhood of the village of Aristovo, Borovsky district, Kaluga region.
The rock festival "Invasion" in the Kaluga region was scheduled for August 4, 5 and 6, 2023. The last time the festival was held in the summer of 2019 in the Tver region.
The festival, founded by the radio station Nashe Radio, takes place every year. From 1999 to 2004, it was held in Moscow and the Moscow region, then the Tver region became the venue.
The Kaluga region is one of the regions that have been attacked by drones in recent days. On the morning of June 2, authorities in several Russian regions reported shelling or drone attacks.
