The Investigative Committee opened a case against a 24-year-old Sochi resident in a murder case for beating a 7-year-old stepdaughter with a belt, who later died. Mediazona writes about this with reference to the press service of the administration of the department for the Krasnodar Territory.

The man lived with his cohabitant and her daughter in an apartment in Sochi. On May 27, he “at least 15 times” hit the girl with a belt, including on the head and stomach, explaining his actions as punishment for the child’s disobedience. Soon the girl became ill, her condition worsened over the course of several days, but neither the beating person nor her mother sought medical help. On the night of June 2, the child's health deteriorated, she began to lose consciousness. The mother called an ambulance, the girl died in the car of doctors, writes the local department of the Investigative Committee.

Neighbors of the family, with whom Sochi.ru journalists spoke , said that the girl had already died in the courtyard of the house. According to the residents, they repeatedly heard the screams of the child and realized that the girl was being beaten. Neighbors contacted the police and guardianship authorities. The police did not react in any way, the guardianship authorities came to the conclusion that “there is food, it’s clean, everything is fine.” According to neighbors, they were advised not to panic in vain. However, the screams and noise, knocks from the furniture did not stop.

On the night of June 2, the neighbors again heard noise and screams. The couple ran out into the street with a child in their arms and asked passers-by to call an ambulance. “I woke up screaming. The woman begged the doctors to save her daughter. The girl died right in our yard, ”said one of the interlocutors of the publication.
