Chechen security forces kidnapped a British citizen who came to visit his parents

In the Chechen city of Urus-Martan, security forces abducted 32-year-old Magomed Abubakarov from the house, 1Adat reports . Abubakarov has been living in the UK for 10 years and is a citizen of this country. He went to Chechnya to visit his parents.

Magomed's relatives have already applied to the Investigative Committee, the Russian Prosecutor's Office and the British Embassy. Now. according to human rights activists, he is illegally detained in the Kurchaloi district police department.

The "Caucasian Knot" writes that before leaving Russia, Abubakarov was tortured and convicted for assisting militants. Abubakarov was 18 years old when he was kidnapped and tortured on suspicion of assisting Chechen fighters. Later he was sentenced to 1.3 years in prison for assisting an illegal armed formation.

On February 15, security forces kidnapped Idris Arsamikov at Moscow's Domodedovo airport. He flew to Chechnya from the Netherlands for his father's funeral. Arsamikov managed to inform the coordinators of the SOS Crisis Group project about his detention, as well as that the border guards took him to the basement. He said that the Chechen security forces had left for him. Later, a video was published on Arsamikov's VK page in which he stated that he planned to "treat", get married and poison himself for the war with Ukraine.
