Belgium will demand Ukraine to explain how Belgian weapons fell into the hands of the Russian Volunteer Corps – Le Soir

The Belgian Ministry of Defense intends to turn to the Ukrainian authorities for an explanation of how the Belgian weapons fell into the hands of the fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps, which conducts raids on Russian territory, reports Le Soir.

The Washington Post published an article in which, citing sources in the security services, it is said that the RDK and the Free Russia Legion used Belgian SCAR assault rifles. In addition, the publication confirmed that these formations also used American, Polish and Czech equipment and weapons.

At the same time, WP emphasizes that, in response to a request from the publication, the RDK emphasized that they did not use foreign weapons in their operations. However, in the photographs published on the Telegram channel of the Russian Volunteer Corps, one can nevertheless see SCAR fighters in the hands of its fighters, as well as Czech Bren assault rifles.

According to a Le Soir source, the supply of Belgian weapons is intended to protect the APU of its territory and population. This is expressly stated in the documents accompanying each shipment. He stressed that its use by groups that have plans to conduct operations on the territory of the Russian Federation is prohibited.

On May 22, a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the RDK entered the territory of the Russian Federation in the area of the Grayvoron checkpoint. On May 1, the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Free Russia Legion reiterated their raid near the town of Shebekino. The governor of the Belgorod region denied the fact that the DRG had entered the territory of the Russian Federation.

On June 4, RDK, together with a representative of the Free Russia Legion, recorded a video message to the Governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. In it, the commander of the RDC, Denis Kapustin (Nikitin), urged Gladkov to come to the temple, located in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, Shebekinsky District (RF) and pick up the captured Russian soldiers.
