The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, responded to the offer of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), which is fighting on the side of Ukraine, to meet personally with him to transfer the captured Russian military.
Gladkov called the RDK "scoundrels, scoundrels and fascists." He expressed the hope that "they will all be destroyed." The governor also notified that in Novaya Tavolzhanka, Shebekinsky district, Belgorod region, where representatives of the "Russian Volunteer Corps" made an appointment for him, there was a battle with a sabotage and reconnaissance group.
At the same time, he suggested that the Russian prisoners had already been killed, but if this was not the case, he offered to transfer them to the Shebekino checkpoint.
Earlier, on June 4, the RDK recorded a video in which he offered a personal meeting with Gladkov in the church of the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka (RF) to transfer the prisoners to the Russian side and talk "about the situation in the region, its future and the future of Russia as a whole." One of the prisoners was identified. This is 48-year-old contract soldier Alexei Belyaev from the city of Kashin, Tver region.
Later, the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, promised that if no one came for the prisoners, they would send "one of his high-ranking deputies" and pick up the Russian military. He also announced his readiness to come personally if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is present at the meeting.
