Children evacuated from Shebekino were placed in a boarding school with shabby walls and falling plaster — Astra

About 90 children evacuated due to shelling from Shebekino, Belgorod region, settled in the boarding school "Regional Rehabilitation Center" at 231 Tarutinskaya Street in Kaluga – this is a building with shabby walls and falling plaster, the Astra Telegram channel reports with reference to parents of children. The channel also published a photo of the boarding school.

According to the parents, the conditions in the boarding school are “unbearable”, the children cannot wash themselves, and the plaster from the ceiling even falls into the plates with food. The children were paid for their travel and meals, they were divided into three groups – and one of the groups went to this boarding school instead of the promised camp.

“The Ministry of Education is just throwing up its hands. The management says: “What did you want, we were asked to urgently settle you.” Why are other children in the camps in normal conditions, and our children, for a minute, this is 90 people, should live like this. Children from the frontier have already suffered so much.”

Director of the boarding school Mikhail Pospolita confirmed in an interview with journalists of the channel that a group of children from Shebekino is in his institution. For other explanations, he sent journalists to the Ministry of Education.

Residents of the Belgorod region also said that children are taken to places where there is no repair. Some buildings are falling apart, inside is unsanitary, there is no clean bed linen.

Authorities in the Belgorod border region have regularly reported shelling since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A new massive shelling of the region began on June 1, 2023, it is already known that at least five people were killed during the shelling. On June 4, Belgorod and the region again came under fire, reporting this, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in the same post congratulated everyone on the Day of the Holy Trinity and wished "God's blessing to every family."
