Raccoons bite cables for 700 thousand rubles during the broadcast of “Match TV”

Raccoons bit the cables during the broadcast of golf competitions in Gelendzhik by the Match TV channel, the total damage is estimated at 700 thousand rubles. This is stated in a statement published on the channel's website. The information that appeared earlier in the Telegram channel Baza was confirmed by the general producer of Match TV Alexander Taschin.

The golf club where the Golf Betting League Cup was held is located away from residential areas and has natural and artificial fences, the statement said. Several television cables were damaged, presumably by wild raccoons.

The general producer of Match TV, Alexander Taschin, expressed the hope that the raccoons would not have health problems.

“The story is funny and at the same time quite sad – television equipment that is damaged by raccoons in several places costs a lot of money. The damage is estimated at an amount exceeding 700 thousand rubles, we are counting on compensation. Of course, we have no complaints about the raccoons, we hope that everything is in order with their digestion and health.”

Earlier on June 5, the Baza Telegram channel reported that raccoons gnawed through several Match TV cables during a golf competition. The report noted that the animals almost disrupted the broadcast: the signal was lost in the mobile television station, and two cameras stopped working for the operators. The employees managed to change the cables before the competition and the actions of the raccoons did not affect the broadcast.
