The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Ulyanovsk Regionopened a criminal case in connection with the manufacture and sale of low-quality alcoholic beverages.
According to investigators, on June 3 and 4, several residents of Dimitrovgrad were hospitalized with a diagnosis of "poisoning with an unidentified substance." Eight of them subsequently died. Later, it became known about two women who died from poisoning in the Samara region.
Initially, the investigators managed to establish that the alcoholic drink "Mr. Cider", which was sold in the Territory of Beer and Birhouse stores, became the cause of the poisoning. It is reported that now the manufacturer, whose enterprise is located in the Krasnoglinsky district of the Samara region, is under investigation.
Part 3 Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (providing services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence), on which a criminal case has been initiated, suggests 10 years in prison as a maximum punishment.
The manufacturer of drinks under the brand name "Mr. Cider" is ANDI LLC, the founder of which is Anar Huseynov, and the general director is Rafik Mudarisov. SU SK in the Ulyanovsk region alsoreports that an entrepreneur who produced low-quality products in the village of Vintai was detained. Rospotrebnadzor urged not to drink drinks of this brand until the end of the investigation.
