Death toll from Mister Cider poisoning in Ulyanovsk region rises to 18

Two more people died from poisoning with counterfeit cider in the Ulyanovsk region, the number of deaths after drinking the alcohol-containing drink "Mr. Cider" rose to 18. The message was published by the Interfax agency, also reported by the Baza Telegram channel.

According to the agency, 51 people were injured in total. A toxicologist from the Moscow Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia has arrived in the Ulyanovsk Region, and telemedicine consultations are now being held with federal centers.

Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow withdraws alcoholic products from sale after cases of poisoning. Russians are urged not to drink this drink and to immediately inform the authorities if they notice Mr. Cider on sale.

Earlier it became known that police officers are looking for two men involved in the production and sale of "Mr. Cider". Baza claims that we are talking about 36-year-old Anton Frolov and 27-year-old Aslanov Ramil. The owner of the manufacturing company, 32-year-old Anar Huseynov, has already been detained. Almost 6,000 liters of "Mr. Cider" were confiscated from the Dimitrovgrad stores, where people were poisoned for the first time. In the Nizhny Novgorod and Samara regions, as well as in Udmurtia, alcohol is confiscated and sent for examination.

"Mr. Cider" was made in the village of Vintai, Krasnoglinsky district, Samara region, the UK has already announced the detention of an entrepreneur distributing the drink there. In Novokuibyshevsk, Samara region, according to TASS, two residents who drank it died .

Also on June 5, the Investigative Committee for the Ulyanovsk Region opened a criminal case in connection with the manufacture and sale of a low-quality alcoholic beverage after several residents in the region were admitted to a hospital with poisoning by an unknown substance, several of them died . The governor of the Ulyanovsk region specified that a total of 35 people were poisoned, 19 of them are in hospitals. In other regions, there are also cases of poisoning: a man and a woman were hospitalized in Udmurtia, there are dead in the Nizhny Novgorod region, said the deputy governor of the region, David Melik-Guseinov. Rospotrebnadzor urged not to drink drinks of this brand until the end of the investigation. In the Ulyanovsk region, an entrepreneur was detained who produced low-quality alcoholic products.
