The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on a terrorist attack after the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.

“As a result of criminal actions on the part of the armed formations of Ukraine, the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was destroyed, which resulted in the flooding of settlements in the Kherson region,” the ministry said.

The case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code (a terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior agreement and causing significant property damage and other grave consequences).

Earlier, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak, on the Breakfast Show, said that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, the 205th motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Armed Forces had blown up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is holding an emergency meeting of the National Security Council.
