The Sevastopol garrison military court sentenced a junior sergeant of the Black Sea Fleet to five years and four months in a penal colony for leaving the unit without permission. This was reported by the press service of the court.
As follows from the materials of the case, a serviceman named Tryapkin, who served under a contract, in October 2022, "during the period of mobilization" did not appear in the unit, but remained to live in Simferopol, "wanting to help his friend with housework and childcare" . In February, a junior sergeant allegedly came to the military investigation department and wrote a confession.
The criminal case was initiated under Part 5 of Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Unauthorized abandonment of a unit lasting more than one month during the period of mobilization or martial law), which provides for 5 to 10 years in prison. This part appeared in the criminal code on September 24, 2022, immediately after the announcement of "partial mobilization".
