Demand for summer rental housing in the Crimea fell to 1%. Two years ago, the region was the absolute leader in Russia in terms of bookings

The share of Crimea across the country in hotel and holiday rental bookings this summer amounted to 1%, RBC writes , citing Ostrovok booking statistics. Two years ago (in 2021), the region annexed by Russia was the absolute leader in housing bookings – 19%.

Last year, after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the share of summer accommodation bookings was slightly higher: about 3%.

At the same time, demand for Sochi rose to a maximum in the last five years, statistics show. Now the resort accounts for 15% of all bookings in Russia for the summer of 2023.
