Producers of "Mister Cider", after poisoning by which 32 people died in several regions of the country, received a "quality mark" from the Samara authorities two years before the mass poisoning. State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Mikhail Matveev drew attention to this, he published a post in his Telegram channel.
The deputy noted that in 2021 the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded Andi, the manufacturer of this cider, with the titles of Samara Product and Made in the Samara Region. According to him, by the time of the award, protocols had already been drawn up against the manufacturer on the "distribution of counterfeit products", but then the owner of the manufacturing company Anar Huseynov received only a warning from the court.
“Cider poisoners have greatly undermined confidence not only in the drink, but also in the authorities of the Samara region. After all, it was the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Samara Region (Minister Andrey Shamin, Head of the Department of Trade and Consumer Market Yulia Klinkova), judging by the website of the manufacturer of the poison from Huseynov-oglu, who awarded them the “Samara product” sign last year (something like a local quality mark). Despite the fact that the spilled swill (on the website it says “in compliance with the strictest technology”) has already been caught on counterfeit,” the deputy wrote.
Matveev added that Tatyana Matyukhina, the judge of the Samara arbitration court, issued a warning to Huseynov, freeing him from a fine of 10,000 rubles. According to the deputy, this judge should be removed, and the leadership of Rospotrebnadzor in the Samara region should be dismissed.
“Where is the control over the activity? As sources tell me, several companies in Samara made hucksters to evade taxes, and invoices were generally made for a Togliatti company and, in general, the beneficiaries there are other people, apparently with a good roof.
He also noted that Governor Dmitry Azarov did not dismiss anyone from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and asked where the tough decisions were.
To date, not only poisoning and deaths have been recorded after drinking cider, there is also one case of coma. According to the Telegram channel Shot, in the Kurgan region, an eleventh-grader fell into a coma after drinking "Mr. Cider" produced by Andi LLC with the taste of pina colada. A 17-year-old Russian woman and her friend bought cider with coconut and pineapple flavors from the Kega chain. One of them drank 2.5 liters, the second – 1.5 liters. As a result, the first schoolgirl in a coma was taken to the hospital, the second was treated on the spot, hospitalization was not required.
The State Duma has already called for the introduction of a state monopoly on the production and circulation of alcohol, as well as the start of unscheduled inspections of producers of beer, cider and light alcoholic beverages. Ksenia Sobchak's Telegram channel "The Bloody Lady" noted that the leader of the "SR" party, Sergei Mironov, and deputy Yana Lantratova sent an appeal to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. They asked to remove the enterprises associated with the production of alcohol-containing products from the moratorium on planned supervisory measures.
In the Ulyanovsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod regions and Udmurtia, 32 people died after poisoning with the alcohol-containing drink "Mr. Cider", while on the first day of detection of poisoning there were 6 deaths, then their number increased. The first case of cider poisoning was also recorded in Chuvashia, the victim is being provided with medical assistance. Three more girls were hospitalized in the city hospitals of Penza, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported. More than 50 people were injured, some of them are in hospitals in different regions with symptoms of poisoning. Impurities of methanol and ethyl butyrate were found in cider. The court arrested the owner of the manufacturing company, 32-year-old Anar Huseynov, on charges of providing services that do not meet safety requirements (Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The police are also looking for 36-year-old Anton Frolov and 27-year-old Ramil Aslanov, who were engaged in the production of the drink.
Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow withdraws alcoholic products from sale after cases of poisoning. Russians are urged not to drink this drink and to immediately inform the authorities if they notice Mr. Cider on sale. After the mass death of Russians due to poisoning, a toxicologist from the Moscow Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia arrived in the Ulyanovsk region.
