Romania demanded from Russia to reduce the staff of the embassy in Bucharest by 51 people

The Romanian Foreign Ministry demanded to reduce the staff of the Russian embassy in Bucharest by 51 people, according to the agency's website.

At the request of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia must cut 21 diplomats and 30 administrative personnel in order to bring the level of Russian representation into numerical correspondence with the level of Romanian representation in Russia.

Which employees to cut, Russia can decide for itself. Bucharest gave Moscow 30 days to fulfill this requirement.

As explained in the Foreign Ministry, such measures reflect "the current level of bilateral relations, sharply reduced by Romania after the start of the Russian aggressive war against Ukraine."

The Russian Foreign Ministry has already stated that "Russia will give an appropriate response."
