In Colombia, found four children who survived the crash of a light aircraft that occurred 40 days ago. The Guardian writes about it.

The Cessna-206 crashed on May 1 after its engine failed. On board were four children (siblings), their parents and the pilot. At the time of the incident, the youngest was a year old, the rest were 4, 9 and 13 years old. When the plane was found, the bodies of three adults were found inside, but there were no children.

The search for the children was carried out by a group of more than 300 people, which included the military and local residents. First they managed to find the place where the children stayed. Rescuers found a baby bottle, scissors, hair tie. Helicopters flew over the jungle and broadcast the voice of the children's grandmother from the loudspeaker: she asked them to stop so that they could be found.

Children by origin – from the local Indian tribe Witoto. Their families hoped that the ability to find food and knowledge of the rainforest would help them survive.

When the children were found a month later, they were dehydrated and bitten by insects. They are provided with medical assistance, now the lives of children are not in danger. Despite the malnutrition, none of the children were seriously ill, not even the youngest child, who spent his first birthday in the jungle.

Rescuers were amazed that children survived for so long in one of the country's most dangerous areas, where tropical rains pour, wild animals abound and armed militants meet. They are believed to have survived, thanks in part to survival kits dropped into the jungle by a search party.

“They gave us an example of total survival that will go down in history,” Colombian President Gustavo Petro said, calling it “a joy for the whole country!”
