The authorities of Kyrgyzstan did not allow the concert of the group "Pornofilmy" to be held in Bishkek, as stated in its Telegram channel.
The musicians write that the security forces came to the club where they were going to play and threatened the administration. After that, they "made it clear" that the concert was not allowed anywhere in the city. "Porn Movies" looked for other sites, but these attempts were unsuccessful.
“We are very sorry that this happened. We know how you have been waiting for us. We ourselves were very much looking forward to this concert and are infinitely upset by the circumstances. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was waiting for our arrival in Bishkek. All tickets will be automatically refunded.
Immediately after the start of the war, the musicians of "Pornofilms" left Russia, and the soloist of the group Vladimir Kotlyarov condemned the actions of Russia and supported Ukraine.
At the beginning of June in Kyrgyzstan, the discussion of a law significantly restricting freedom of speech in the country reached the finish line. It is similar to the Russian one and involves the re-registration of all media outlets and a de facto ban on anti-corruption investigations. At the same time, media outlets have been actively closed in Kyrgyzstan in recent months, and opposition journalists and bloggers have either been imprisoned or deported.
