Ukrayinska Pravda: Russians blew up a dam on the Wet Yaly River in the Donetsk region

Russian forces blew up a dam on the Wet Yaly River in the Donetsk region, Ukrayinska Pravda writes , citing Valery Shershen, a representative of the defense forces of the Taurida direction. This led to the flooding of both banks.

According to Shershen, the Russians thus stand out to slow down the offensive of the Ukrainian forces.

“First, the invaders blew up the Karlovskoe reservoir, then the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, then they blew up other hydraulic structures in the occupied part of the Zaporozhye region. In the Zaporozhye region they are expecting a breakthrough by the Defense Forces, so in order to slow our advance, they resorted to this tactic when they again blew up the hydraulic structure on the Wet Yaly River. But this does not affect the advancement of the Defense Forces.”

Earlier today, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar announced that Ukrainian units had liberated the villages of Blagodatnoye and Makarovka in the Velikonovoselkovsky district of the Donetsk region. These settlements are located on the banks of the Mokryye Yaly River, not far from the border with the Zaporozhye region.
