The prosecutor’s office asked for 19.5 years for a father of many children accused of setting fire to paddy wagons

The state prosecution demanded to sentence to 19 years and 6 months in a strict regime colony the father of many children, Vitaly Koltsov, who is accused of setting fire to paddy wagons. This is reported by "Mediazona" from the courtroom.

Earlier at the trial, the jury refused to find Koltsov guilty of attempted murder of riot police, but agreed that the defendant was guilty of deliberately setting fire to a paddy wagon.

According to investigators, on May 2, 2022, Koltsov threw two Molotov cocktails at two paddy wagons parked on Revolution Square "in order to take the lives" of 12 riot policemen.

When asked whether Koltsov's guilt had been proven to have done this, the jury replied: "Yes, it has been proven, with the exception of 'for the purpose of depriving them of their lives'." The board decided that Koltsov really committed the arson, he is guilty, but deserves leniency.

“I did not want to kill anyone, this is a natural human position. I am guilty of setting fire to the paddy wagon, but don’t make me a killer, ”Koltsov himself said at the trial.
