Two tankers collided in the Irkutsk region, one of the captains was drunk. Up to 90 tons of fuel could get into the Lena River

Two tankers – TR-901 and "Erofey Khabarov" – collided on the Lena River near the village of Alekseevsk, Kirensky District, Irkutsk Region, as a result, the tank with fuel was damaged at "Erofey Khabarov". This is reported by TASS with reference to emergency services and the press service of the government of the Irkutsk region.

In the Kirensky district, a state of emergency was introduced.

"Khabarov" transported tanks in which there were more than 800 tons of gasoline, from 60 to 90 tons of AI-92 could fall into the river.

The captain of the Yerofey Khabarov was intoxicated, the press service of the regional government specified. It is known that his assistant could manage the tanker. This information was also given by the head of the Irkutsk region Sergey Kobzev:

“According to the East Siberian transport prosecutor Denis Avdeev, the ship“ Erofey Khabarov ”was controlled by an assistant captain. As shown by a medical examination, the captain, in turn, was drunk. Of course, this fact needs a legal assessment. At the moment, a criminal case has been opened."

Kobzev claims that working groups have been created in the settlements to ensure that people do not use water from the river for their own needs and watering places for farm animals.
