Tver activist Ivan Kudryashov, accused of preparing to set fire to the military enlistment office, went on a hunger strike in SIZO-1 because the head of the facility refused to meet with him. This is reported by the "Solidarity Zone".

Kudryashov asked the head of the pre-trial detention center to meet with him on May 29 in a personal statement, but the meeting never took place. On June 8, the activist refused to eat, he only drinks water. With the head of the pre-trial detention center, Kudryashov wanted to discuss the administration’s refusal to provide him with free vegan food, the non-delivery of parcels with vitamins, vegetable protein and books, as well as the ban on leaving the cell in shorts.

The activist's lawyer, Maksim Kharchenko, said that he feels weak and periodically has convulsions.

Kudryashov is charged under the article on preparation for a terrorist act (part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code with the application of part 1 of article 30 of the Criminal Code). He was arrested on September 30, 2022. According to investigators, he was going to set fire to the military enlistment office in protest against the mobilization. Kudryashov stated that after his arrest he was tortured to get the password for his smartphone and forced to sign a confession. During the detention, officers of the Tver FSB planted incendiary mixtures on him, the activist claimed. The Investigative Committee refused to initiate a case of torture at his request.
