The Armed Forces of Ukraine were immediately struck by five Msta-S howitzers, a missile attack on Krivoy Rog, and the “loss” of Adam Delimkhanov. What’s Happening on the Front Line

In today's summary:

The situation at the front

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to advance 300-350 meters in the Zaporozhye direction . In addition, it is reported about the advance of 200-250 meters in the Bakhmut direction . According to Malyar, battles are being fought near Makarovka in the Berdyansk direction and Novodanilovka and Novopokrovka in the Mariupol direction .

One of the founder and chief public representative of PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, claims that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to free more than 100 square meters. km during offensive operations, as stated in the Ukrainian General Staff.

The 88th Battalion of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows the reflection of the Russian counterattack, which they carried out on four units of armored vehicles near Storozhevoye. In the video you can see infantry fighting vehicles and T-80BV tanks. All equipment was destroyed, the exchange fund was replenished with new prisoners. The military observer of the German publication Bild, Julian Röpke, writes that the Russians could simply retreat from the neighboring Neskuchnoye , and not counterattack, and fall into the trap of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the photo from the liberated Neskuchny, you can see only the ruins.

Reuters journalists who visited Storozhevoe after it came under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine note that the road to it is "strewn with the corpses of Russian soldiers and burned armored vehicles."

The Russian channel "Military Informant" summarizes what President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with "military commanders" regarding the problems of the Russian army. Two "most key" problems are noted – the lack of high-precision weapons, UAVs and missiles, as well as the "degeneration" of the senior command staff.

Local residents in the so-called "LPR" complained about the kidnapping and beatings of a serviceman. According to them, this was done by mercenaries from the commandant's unit of Wagner PMC, who demanded from the relatives of the kidnapped man, first 50,000, and then 100,000 rubles. The man was released after a call to the Wagner commander, but as Andrey “Murz” Morozov, a well-known blogger and serviceman of the 2nd Army Corps of the RF Armed Forces, writes, this is not the first such case.

"Loss" by Adam Delimkhanov

On the morning of June 14, Ukrainian political scientist Kirill Sazonov, who is fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced the liquidation of an ally of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, in Primorsk, Zaporozhye region, occupied by Russian troops. According to him, in addition to Delimkhanov, another 200 soldiers were killed. The blow allegedly hit the Kadyrov column, calculated by the special operations forces during the search for concentrations of Russian military.

Soon, the Russian TV channel Zvezda, citing the press service of the State Duma, wrote about the wounding of Kadyrov's ally. Immediately after that, mocking posts began to appear in the channels of Kadyrov and the commander of the Akhmat special detachment, Apti Alaudinov , with statements that they had “lost” Delimkhanov and were urgently sending “all units” to look for him.

Vyacheslav Volodin denied the death or injury of a prominent Kadyrovite before the meeting of the State Duma. Toward evening, a photo appeared on Kadyrov's Telegram channel, in which the head of Chechnya was depicted in front of a map of Ukraine along with Delimkhanov. Apparently, the post was intended to prove that everything is in order with the deputy, but you can notice certain oddities with the map: the territories annexed in September 2022 are not included in the Russian Federation, and the positions of the parties are marked as of the summer-autumn of the same year.

Mutual shelling and sabotage

The Air Force of Ukraine reports the destruction of three Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles and 9 kamikaze drones of the Shahed family (aka Geran) in the sky of Ukraine. In total, four Caliber and 10 UAVs were launched. There are also claims of strikes by six Kh-22 air-launched cruise missiles on the Donetsk region .

In Kramatorsk, five buildings were destroyed, people were trapped under the rubble. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports the discovery of two of those dead and two more rescued from the rubble. In Konstantinovka, one person was killed and one was wounded.

A Russian missile hit a bottled water warehouse in Krivoy Rog . Seven workers died, one of them was 17 years old. The blow also hit a residential five-story building in the city. It is reported about 12 dead, among them a young family. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, writes that about 50 components of the X-101 missile, with the help of which one of the strikes was carried out, were produced "in the countries of the free world" and delivered to Russia "in different ways."

Odessa was subjected to rocket fire. At least one Caliber cruise missile hit one of the city's business centers. An educational institution, a residential complex, a catering establishment and shops were damaged. According to preliminary data , 3 people were killed and 7 people were injured, but there may still be people under the rubble. Joint Command "South" reports that missile launches were made by Russian ships from the Black Sea , air defense forces shot down two of them.

At night , Dnepropetrovsk Oblast was attacked with the help of three "Shahed" kamikaze drones, all of them were shot down. Nikopol was fired from heavy artillery, there were no casualties.

The recreation centers "Solnechnaya" and "Azure" in the occupied Primorsk, Zaporozhye region , where the Russian troops were located, were shelled. It is reported that at the time of the shelling, there were approximately 200 military personnel and about 30 pieces of equipment in Lazurnaya.

Vladimir Putin called the "virtual destruction" of the headquarters of the Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR) in Kiev a response to the "pushing back of the red lines." It is worth noting that the building was probably really damaged during the missile attack, but was not destroyed.

Russian air defense forces shot down an American radar missile AGM-88 HARM over Pology occupied by Russian troops in the Zaporozhye region .

In the Russian-controlled part of the Donetsk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the training ground of the Russian military. The footage of the video shows how the personnel scatter in different directions.

The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, wrote about the shelling of the village of Glushkovo , seven "arrivals" were recorded. Two people were injured, apartment buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. In addition, Starovoit talks about the interception of a drone over the settlement, which provided fire adjustments.

The Rybar Telegram channel associated with the Russian Defense Ministry writes about the shelling of villages on the Russian-Ukrainian border of the Bryansk and Belgorod regions . Two people were reported injured.

Losses

A video of a BMP-2 "one of the motorized rifle units of the Russian Armed Forces" shot down during the battle in the Orekhovo direction has been published.

President Putin announced that Russia had lost 54 tanks since the start of Ukraine's counter-offensive in June. At the same time, he estimated the losses of the Ukrainian side at "over 160 tanks and over 360 armored vehicles." This is rather strange, since the Oryx OSINT project, which maintains a count of visually confirmed losses of military equipment in Russia and Ukraine, reported 18 disabled Russian tanks.

If we assume that Vladimir Putin announces the figures provided to him by the Russian Ministry of Defense, then we can assume that the department, not knowing the figures of real losses, simply “drew” the Ukrainian ones, and then divided them into three. It is believed that the losses of the attacking side are usually three times the losses of the defending side. Alexander Lukashenko generally decided not to waste time on trifles and announced the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 150 thousand people in a week of offensive operations.

Putin also spoke about a battalion of conscripts who allegedly behaved “brilliantly” and “did not flinch” during an attack on the side of Ukraine by the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and the Freedom of Russia Legion (LSR) in the Belgorod Region . It is worth noting that earlier it was reported about the transfer of untrained conscripts to this region on the border with Ukraine, at least three of them died under shelling.

The Russian Z-channel Older Edda published an angry post criticizing the command of one of the divisions, whose personnel and equipment “stood in one place in a crowd for two hours and waited for the commander to say his motivating word” (according to another source , the 144th division motorized rifle division was caught loading / unloading). As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the convoy with cannon artillery and HIMARS MLRS.

The Rybar Telegram channel reports that there were fewer casualties allegedly in the Velikonovoselkovskoye direction in a few days of fighting than as a result of this incident. According to the GRAY ZONE channel associated with PMC Wagner, the incident occurred near Kremennaya , and the fault lies with the commander of the 20th Army of the Western Military District, Sukhrab Akhmedov. It is noted that on his account (together with General Rustam Muradov) the loss of "more than a hundred units of armored vehicles during the assault on Pavlovka and attempts to assault Ugledar ".

In the above-mentioned report, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Anna Malyar, announced the destruction of a battery of Russian "self-propelled guns." Perhaps we are talking about an incident with the defeat of five Msta-S self-propelled guns at once by GMLRS HIMARS missiles in the Novopetrikovka area, southeast of the Vremievsky ledge (according to the Soviet and Russian states, an artillery battery consists of six guns).

In Mariupol, damaged Russian military equipment was seen , which is being evacuated from the Berdyansk direction for repair.

A video of a Russian T-72 tank hitting a mine in the Velikonovoselkovskoye direction is published. Two members of his crew are reported to have been taken prisoner.

Russian "military correspondents" publish statistics on the defeat of M777 howitzers. According to calculations, it is not the counter-battery fire of Russian artillery that demonstrates the greatest effectiveness in destroying Ukrainian artillery, but kamikaze drones. 54 visually confirmed cases of M777 damage using them are reported. In total, the destruction of 52 howitzers of this type out of more than 150 delivered was documented.

Ukrainian military expert Leonid Dimitriev analyzed for The Insider the amount of Russian equipment destroyed over the past week:

“It has been approximately 67.5 weeks since February 24, 2022.

04.06-11.06 (last week) according to official data in comparison with the average losses:

MLRS . In total, 601 Russian MLRS were destroyed. Or about 9 pieces on average per week of war. Over the last week – 18. That is, twice the average.

Artillery . The average is about 55 receiver systems per week of war. Last week – 181, 3.3 times more. On average, an artillery battalion consists of 18 guns.

Air defense means . The average is 5 per week. Over the past – 18, 3.3 times more.

Transport . The average is 96 units per week. Over the past 156 units have been destroyed. Almost double the average.

Special technique . On average for the period 7 pieces per week, for the last week – 30 pieces, roughly – 4 times more.

The estimate is rather rough, since at the beginning of the war our reconnaissance means and the method of verifying losses were much more primitive than they are now. But the general trend is clear.

The calculator tells us that the occupying forces, which would have to meet the active actions of the Ukrainian troops and provide logistics for their own, began to suffer many times greater losses. This is what defense depletion looks like.”

Armaments and military equipment

The United States announced the provision of another package of military assistance to Ukraine. First of all, instead of retired armored vehicles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 15 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and 10 Stryker armored personnel carriers. In addition, the package includes missiles for NASAMS air defense systems, as well as ammunition, tactical secure communications, spare parts and other field equipment.

The Ukrainian military is being trained to operate Leopard 1A5 tanks. Training takes place in Germany under the supervision of instructors from Denmark. About 25 of these combat vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine in 2023. In a recent video , German military historian Bernhard Kast, drawing on the experience of a foreign volunteer fighting on the side of Ukraine, argues that the Leopard 1A5 is in many ways (excluding extremely rare tank battles) not inferior to more modern Russian and Western tanks and at the same time much less demanding to transport and supplies than, for example, the Leopard 2 or the British Challenger 2.

Four passive radar systems VERA NG will be handed over to Ukraine by the Netherlands. Their peculiarity lies in the fact that during their work they do not reveal their positions.

In a video published on social networks, you can see the Russian universal planning and correction module (UMPC) of a planning bomb based on the FAB-500M62. She fell and buried herself in the ground near the positions of the Ukrainian military. It is noted that the UMPC filling consists of many microcircuits.

At the Russian training ground Chebarkul posted streamers, which indicate the vulnerabilities of the Abrams and Challenger tanks. The Russian channel "Military Informant" writes that at the time of the outbreak of the war, such benefits were almost impossible to find, and those that were were "shamefully hidden."

A photo appeared with the American BMP M2A2 Bradley ODS-SA in the Zaporozhye direction .

Two HMMWV armored vehicles equipped with non-standard weapon systems were seen in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of them is equipped with a double-barreled American machine gun US M2 Browning with a caliber of 12.7 mm, and the second one is equipped with a Soviet Vladimirov heavy machine gun (KPV) with a caliber of 14.5 mm.

The Economist correspondent spoke with the Ukrainian operator of the American Patriot air defense system about how the supposedly hypersonic Russian 9-S-7760 Kinzhal missile was first shot down. According to the interlocutor of the journalist, she followed at an average speed of 1240 m / s, which is only a quarter of the declared characteristics. Hypersonic speeds are considered to be from 1600 m/s and above. Subsequently, the defeat of the "Daggers" with the help of the Patriot became "routine".

The Russians tape F-1 grenades, as well as other explosive devices, to the PG-7 rounds for the RPG-7 grenade launcher. It is difficult to judge how far such ammunition will fly.
