Belgorod authorities spent twice as much on a stand for SPIEF than on compensation for residents of the region who lost their homes

The stand for presentation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum cost the budget of the Belgorod Region 11 million rubles, the We Can Explain channel drew attention . In 2023, the authorities of the region allocated 6.4 million rubles for payments to Belgorod residents who lost their homes due to the war. Residents of the Shebekinsky district will get 1 million rubles.

A large panel with a map of the region was made for the stand. The design elements are a hanging cube with augmented reality screens, live plants, herbs and flowers from the region.

On June 10, Belgorod residents evacuated from the region bordering Ukraine in the comments on the page of the governor Vyacheslav Gladkov criticized the regional authorities for the lack of payments. The regional operational headquarters included in the list of residents eligible for financial assistance only a part of the settlements of the Shebekinsky district. The people who lived in Shebekino without registration could not achieve payments either.

After that, Vyacheslav Gladkov promised to draw up a separate register of such people and “find an opportunity” to pay them money from other sources. To receive compensation, residents of Shebekin and Novaya Tavolzhanka who do not have registration will be required to write an application. Their documents will be checked against the bases of polyclinics, schools, kindergartens and Rosreestr.

Those evacuated from Shebekino and Novaya Tavolzhanka are entitled to 10,000 rubles each. In case of loss of property – 50 thousand per family member.
