The EU will accelerate the supply of arms to Ukraine. They will not depend on the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front

The EU will accelerate the supply of weapons to Ukraine to support the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against Russian troops. At the same time, as Thierry Breton, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, said in an interview with Le Parisien, they will not depend on how successfully offensive actions develop.

According to him, in a war of high intensity, the supply of weapons and ammunition plays a "decisive role." He recalled that in the next 12 months, the EU countries will supply Ukraine with a million large-caliber ammunition. Breton noted the understanding in the EU that the war could last for months, "maybe even longer."

Czech President Petr Pavel, in an interview on CNN Prima News, said that, in his opinion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have only one opportunity to launch an offensive this year, and it will not be possible to prepare a second one. He believes that after it, either negotiations will begin to end the war, or Ukraine will be forced to accumulate reserves for a new attempt next year.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive in early June 2023. Russian troops have been able to create a fortified layered defense that makes it difficult for them to advance. The main events are now unfolding on the Zaporozhye bridgehead of hostilities.
