The trial of Alexei Navalny, which began today in IK-6 in the Vladimir region, was closed to the public and journalists. As the correspondent of The Insider reports, the audience will most likely be allowed only for the announcement of the verdict.
The journalists were taken out of the territory of the colony. Navalny's parents also left her.
Immediately after the start of the meeting, Navalny asked the judge to let his parents into the hall, but this was refused. In the broadcast room where they are, the sound is poor and almost nothing can be heard. Journalists were also not allowed into the hall where the meeting was taking place. A few days before the start of the trial, the press service of the court decided to organize a broadcast for the media in another building.
Navalny is being tried along with the former technical director of Navalny LIVE, Daniel Kholodny, who was taken to IK-6 from a pre-trial detention center where he has been held for more than a year. The defendants are charged with seven counts, including the creation of an extremist community, the financing of extremist activities, the creation of a non-profit organization that infringes on the rights of citizens.
