University students in Nizhny Novgorod are being evicted from their hostel to accommodate volunteers recruited for the war in Ukraine

Students of the Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University named after Kozma Minin (NGPU) will be evicted from the hostel in the Avtozavodsky district of the city and given to the accommodation of military personnel going to war in Ukraine. As the press service of the university told NN.RU, volunteers arriving from remote areas of the region will live in the hostel all summer.

The university promised that those students whose academic semester has not yet ended will be moved to other hostels.

“Taking into account the beginning of the holidays, we are providing for those Nizhny Novgorod residents who have expressed their willingness to go to the NVO zone as volunteers, one of our three hostels located at Avtozavod, which is convenient for the logistics of the armed forces. Our task is to provide them with comfortable conditions for the period of the procedure for concluding a contract, ”said Viktor Sdobnyakov, rector of the National State Pedagogical University.

NTA-Privolzhye notes that Minin University has actively supported Russian aggression in Ukraine before. In particular, the university collected humanitarian aid for the participants of the “SVO”, and students and teachers work with children taken out of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
