Fontanka published a photo of the grave of Major General Sergei Goryachev. Previously, it was not known for certain about his death, only "military commander" Yuri Kotenok reported about it. The date of death is indicated on the cross – June 12, 2023. The kitten reported the death of the general the next day. According to him, he died as a result of a rocket attack on the Vremievsky ledge in the Zaporozhye direction, where heavy fighting took place on June 12.
A reader sent photos to the publication, specifying that Goryachev's grave is located at the Odessa path of the Serafimovsky cemetery in St. Petersburg. Goryachev headed the 35th Combined Arms Army. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not comment on the death. At the same time, the British Ministry of Defense reported that Goryachev "almost certainly died." The general was buried with military honors, Fontanka reported. According to Important Stories, this is the tenth Russian general to die in Ukraine.
