The court sentenced the commander of the Sukhoi Superjet that burned down in Sheremetyevo in 2019 to 6 years in a colony-settlement. The plane crash killed 41 people.

Denis Evdokimov was tried under the article on violation of safety rules for the operation of air transport.

The pilot himself denies his guilt. According to him, the plane did not meet airworthiness standards. He also insists that the lightning that struck the plane on the day of the crash disabled the electrical remote control system, and there is no such model of mechanical control of the steering surfaces in the plane.

The crash of the SSJ-100 Aeroflot, which was operating the Moscow-Murmansk flight, occurred on May 5, 2019. The plane was struck by lightning as it was returning to the airport of departure. During landing, the plane hit the runway hard, caught fire and collapsed. As a result of the fire, 41 people died and 10 were injured.
