The investigative publication Important Stories obtained an archive of documents and emails from which it becomes clear how the famous Russian oligarchs brothers Arkady and Boris Rotenberg hid their companies, real estate, yachts and planes behind the backs of frontmen who helped them circumvent Western sanctions.
Together with other publications, Important Stories analyzed tens of thousands of documents from the Rotenberg archive and found out many interesting details, each of which became the reason for a separate text. Here, for example, is a list of four materials .
In particular, the journalists found out that:
- the Austrian house, where the daughter of the Russian president, Maria Vorontsova, was often seen, was bought by a firm that received millions of euros from Arkady Rotenberg's company;
- the chosen ones of the Rotenbergs – citizens of the United States and Latvia – helped out the Rotenbergs and family assets in difficult times of sanctions;
- Rotenberg frontman Ruslan Goryukhin sued German journalists for linking Putin's friend with one of Moscow's largest real estate developers, but did not tell the German court the whole truth;
- frontman Maxim Viktorov saved the western villas and business jets of the Rotenberg brothers.
