The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court sentenced an employee of a sensitive military-industrial enterprise to 9 years in prison in a strict regime colony in the case of “treason” (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). According to Mediazona, the convict's name is Vikor Ilyin. Kommersant found out that he worked at the Federal Nuclear Center in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
According to the investigation, at the beginning of 2022, the accused “carried out espionage” in favor of Ukraine, the United States and Great Britain, allegedly communicating with representatives of the special services of these countries.
“To conceal illegal activities, the man used fake documents and special software,” the FSB said.
NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" writes that the detainee did not admit his guilt for a long time, but eventually began to cooperate with the investigation.
