The Ministry of Education wants to rename the OBZh lesson. Instead of life safety, the name will now be “homeland safety”

Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said that the ministry he heads is considering the option of renaming life safety lessons. If earlier the abbreviation was deciphered as “Fundamentals of life safety”, then in the new name it was decided to remove life activity. The new lesson is proposed to be called "Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland." Moreover, children who have returned from the war in Ukraine will sometimes teach children in these lessons.

“We understand that time today, among other things, tells us that this course needs to be developed. And we also discussed it with the pedagogical community, and with teachers, and we see that the guys who fought in the special military operation zone, they, like no one else, can come and tell the truth. We are also discussing such a decision now to call it “Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland,” Kravtsov said.

Whether it will be only regular military personnel or ex-prisoners from the Wagner PMC will also be allowed to teach, Kravtsov did not specify.
