“You are man! And your passport is just a piece of paper!” In Moscow, a transgender girl is held in the police department for more than a day

A transgender girl was detained in one of the Moscow shopping centers and is being held for more than a day in the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yuzhnoportovy district of Moscow. They don't let her lawyer in. This was reported by the human rights initiative “The Case of LGBT+”.

Sota writes that the detainee is known on YouTube as "Olysia Kat", she is a trash streamer in the form of "catwoman". In her streams, the girl has already talked about conflicts in the shopping center, one of the last ones happened four weeks ago.

A girl named Chernigovskaya was detained in the Mozaika shopping center in Moscow. She herself called the police after mall security guards tried to escort her out of the building. The security forces came and took her to the department.

According to Novaya Gazeta Europe, the police keep the girl in the department for more than a day and tell her that she is a man. The security forces do not give her food and demand that she drink “from the tap or from the toilet,” and also say that her passport is “just a piece of paper.” A lawyer is not allowed to see the detainee; her pets are left unattended at home.

A week ago, the State Duma supported a ban on transgender transition, including the change of documents. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a psychiatric institute to study the "social behavior" of LGBT people.

Russia also passed a law banning "LGBT propaganda". There are no precise definitions in this law, and in fact it applies to a person with any orientation. For example, it can attract people who openly talk about not wanting to have children. For more details, see the material “Judges and policemen will decide on the spot”. Under the “gay propaganda” law, even childfree people can be fined.”
