The court ordered Mediazona to remove the text about torture in the Kuban. There were allegedly no tortures, because there were no cases filed against the police

The Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar recognized Mediazona's article about torture in the police department of the village of Vyselka as "untrue" and ordered the publication to remove it and publish a refutation. It is reported by Mediazona.

Material titled “In the basement in Vyselki. A report from the Kuban village, intimidated by torture at the local police department, was released in 2021. The court came to the conclusion that the facts stated in it are not true, because, according to the results of the checks, no criminal cases were opened against the police officers.

The Department of Internal Affairs for the Vyselkovsky District filed a lawsuit against the publication in the summer of 2022 to protect honor, dignity and business reputation.

Human rights activists of the “Committee against Torture” in 2020 were told about torture in this police station by several residents of the village of Vyselka in the Krasnodar Territory. All of them reported about beatings in the basement of the police station, some about how they were taken to the forest and tortured there with electric current.
