“The world must hear this sound of war” – Muratov about the sirens that Ukrainian journalists turned on during his speech at a media forum

Dmitry Muratov, editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta, Nobel Peace Prize winner, commented on his speech at a media forum (Global media forum) in Bonn, Germany, during which Ukrainian journalists turned on the sound of an air raid warning.

"Dear Colleagues! During my speech at the DW media forum, Ukrainian journalists turned on the air raid alarm on their smartphones. Standing on the podium, I thought it was a technical problem. No, it was not a technical problem. If I knew, I interrupted the speech and asked the sound of the siren to be amplified. The world needs to hear this sound of war, and for this, any place is appropriate. I have no complaints about the organizers of the forum, I treat the action of Ukrainian journalists with understanding,” Muratov said.
