Baza: Driver of Russian Railways detained on suspicion of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russian Railways driver Ostap Demchuk was detained in the Amur Region in a case of treason, Baza reports . According to the Telegram channel, the 47-year-old man is accused of transferring money from September 2022 to January 2023 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Demchuk, who works at the Amur branch of Russian Railways, was detained on June 14.

In June, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill that would make it possible to block websites calling for funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other armed formations fighting on the side of Ukraine without trial.
