The head of the investment Henry Crown and Company, billionaire James Crown, died on a race track in Colorado on his birthday, reports The Colorado Sun. He is 70 years old.
During a run at Aspen Motorsports Park, Crown crashed into a safety barrier.
“The official cause of death will be determined after the examination, but it is clear that he received numerous injuries,” the medical examiner announced. He called the incident an accident.
James Crown is a member of the board of directors of JPMorgan Chase and president of the investment company Henry Crown & Co, founded by his father Henry Crown. Forbes in 2020 estimated the fortune of the Crown family at $10.2 billion.
According to the publication, Crown was called on NBC News a member of the “inner circle” of former US President Barack Obama. In 2014, Obama named Crown a member of his intelligence advisory board. At the time, First Lady Michelle Obama stayed at Crown's home in Aspen in 2014 during a ski vacation.
