“You actually stopped the civil war” – Putin thanked the military for the fact that nothing happened

Putin thanked all the Russian military for suppressing the rebellion organized by Yevgeny Prigozhin, despite the fact that there were no hostilities on the ground.

According to Putin, the determination and courage of the military, as well as the consolidation of society, played a decisive role in crushing the rebellion.

“You actually stopped the civil war, you acted clearly and harmoniously,” Putin said.

A day earlier, Putin also thanked the "Wagnerites" for the fact that the rebellion did not end in bloodshed.

Recall that during the movement of the columns of "Wagnerites" towards Moscow, there were no ground armed clashes between the military. At the same time, the participants of the rebellion were fired upon by aircraft, and they fired back. As a result, the "Wagnerites" shot down six helicopters and one plane, 13 pilots were killed.

After the failed rebellion, Yevgeny Prigozhin stated that “the purpose of the campaign was to prevent the destruction of the Wagner PMC and to bring to justice all persons who, through their unprofessional actions, made a huge number of mistakes during the SVO.”

According to him, the Wagner PMC was supposedly going to disarm on June 30, but a blow was dealt to its militants, as a result of which about 30 people were killed.

“We did not want to shed Russian blood. We went to demonstrate our protest, and not to overthrow the government in the country,” Prigozhin said.
